The RSC U8 program features separate divisions for boys and girls, using modified rules and larger fields and goals than at the U6 level. Teams meet for one scheduled practice session each week, with matches scheduled on weekends. Games are played with seven players per side, including one goalkeeper, and a total roster of 12 players per team. The goal of U8 Soccer is to teach the fundamentals of the game and to have fun. In an effort to achieve this goal, scores are not kept during games, and team standings are not kept.
